Wunderman have taken some of my hand-drawn lettering and created a custom font. It’s being used for a microsite promoting the new Ford Ka. See the website here. The final font includes three different weights and a mountain of special characters.
The site also features an interactive map illustrated by Matt Johnstone.

Hi Damien,
we once met at Southwark Cathedral (Steve, lunchbreak). I just saw your typeface. Did you do the technical part as well? My last project for Fortune Street was Lapwing, that has a custom made typeface as well.
KInd regards
Björn
Hi Björn,
Unfortunately not. I supplied the agency with artwork for the letterforms and they got someone else to actually take those and make a create a working typeface.
I remember enjoying playing around in fontlab at university but I don’t think I ever really got to grips with it. I spotted the Lapwing work on Fortune Street’s website a week or two ago. I really like the type on this poster – http://www.fortunestreet.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/lapwing_6.jpg.
Hope you’re well.
Damien
