Here’s a sketch from a project I’ve been working on this week.

A copy of iGrump published by Portico just hit my desk. I drew a technology themed illustration for the beginning of each chapter.

I’ve been drawing a whole lot of sheds for an upcoming book project. This futuristic example didn’t quite made the cut.

This one is a reject. It was an idea for an illustration to accompany an article about sustainable power sources. I’m actually rather fond of this little guy.

As I’m sure you already know, this week has been Wizard Week over at the most excellent web comic People I Know. Timothy asked me to contribute a wizard so I got straight to work on this mighty gorilla wizard – It seemed an obvious choice at the time but now I can’t say for sure what my line of thinking was. At some point I must have got confused about the difference between a wizard and a magician because I included a rabbit but overall I’m pretty pleased with him.

At One Thousand Cranes you can donate, download, print and fold an origami crane in support of Japan. www.onethousandcranesforjapan.com
Artists have created beautiful designs that can be made into origami cranes. A donation to the Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Relief Fund will allow you to download a design with instructions to guide you in making a crane. We are hoping many thousands of you will fold and then place your crane somewhere prominent so that it might inspire others to also focus their intent and devotion toward those in the grip of this tragedy.
As the artwork needed to be square I thought I’d take the opportunity to make my illustration work as a repeat pattern. I think I’d like to try out some more of these soon.
There’s some really lovely work waiting to be used to make a crane from Hennie Haworth, Revenge is Sweet and Rose Stallard to name just a few.
Hey look! I’ve been drawing some complex emotions.
