I’ve released a series of new prints with Mankovsky Gallery.
These things are beautifully printed and huge – editions in three sizes up to 100x140cm!
My good friend illustrator/animator Sebaldo took this slightly manic but ever so friendly Ping Pong character of mine (previously seen in a project I worked on with NYT for Kids / Google) and brought it to life.
I couldn’t look into those eyes and tell them they were alone so I ended up designing a whole set of ping pong emoji pals.
Stepping away at the right time and knowing how to fire. Two skills not familiar to me as an illustrator but apparently fairly important if you’re the founder of a startup. These two illustrations for Courier were the lasts thing I created before stepping out of 2020 hell and right into this fresh 2021 hell 🔥🤡🔥.

Today is release day!
It’s crazy thinking back to last year, and the time spent finishing up the final batch of the illustrations. It would have been so hard to believe we’d be here today, in this new version of the world, where we’re celebrating the launch of the book and football is waiting on the sidelines hoping for an opportunity to get back into the action.
It’s still pretty exciting to think of people finally getting their hands on a copy 🙂
I’ve design limited edition t-shirt which will be given away FREE to the first 100 people to pre-order The Big Book of Football online.
Email a proof of purchase to TheBigBookOfFootball@Quarto.com along with your name, address, and preferred T-shirt size and it’ll be sent out to you on publication day.*
*The T-shirt offer runs until midnight 4th May 2020. Available worldwide. T-shirt design finalised and produced by Wide Eyed Editions. No room for negotiation on design. T-shirt available in adults S/M/L. There is no cash alternative to the prize offered.
Mundial write intelligent, funny, stylish, irreverent, and nostalgic words in their quarterly magazine and they’ve brought all of that to this 112 page kid’s book too. Everything is covered. The all-time greatest players, teams, haircuts and celebrations. Drills to help you to learn to head the ball like Drogba or take a shot like Ji So-yun. The evolution of the ball and the history of boots. Everything.
The book hits the shelves on 5th May but you can pre-order now…
For the 2019 UK General Election Jelly London have brought back their #TurnUp campaign encouraging people to register to vote and then get down to the polling stations on 12th December.
They’ve put a call out to artists asking them to contribute artworks to form part of a social media campaign.
I’ve started adding sketches and other unfinished stuff to my tumblr. Head over that way if you’re into that kind of thing… damienweighill.tumblr.com/
